Advanced Studio and Post-Production Features
|
|
Designed for live camera production with genlock
capable cameras, the AG-MX70 features tally outputs
for up to eight cameras. (Genlocked signals can be
mixed with other signals, allowing dissolves wipes,
and other transition effects.)
Two-channel frame synchronization permits special
effects in each of the two program busses. The
AG-MX70 provides broadcast quality 4:2:2:4 digital
component picture quality and wipe patterns that
accommodate 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio production
needs as well as a 30-frame graphics buffer for
roll, crawl and logo animation. And the USB
interface makes it easy to import graphic files.
The AG-MX70 also features digital chrominance and
luminance keys, Mix Effects (M/E) preview, Down
Stream Keyer (DSK) preview, Event Memory for storing
favorite effects, a numeric keyboard for setting
pattern numbers and other values and built-in color
bars. |
• |
Convenient Operation
|
|
The large LCD control panel makes for quick, easy
operation and monitoring of system status. A
five-row matrix menu display with five rotary
switches makes it easy to set the unit's multitude
of functions. The LCD panel also displays audio
level meters.
An easy-to-operate joystick allows users to
intuitively position and size effects as well as
select and adjust colors or perform color
correction. |
• |
Digital Effects
|
|
The AG-MX70 can create more than 600 two-dimensional
effects and transitions like key patterns, mosaics,
paints, melts, trails and multi-images. Adding the
optional AG-VE70P 3-D effects board delivers over
1600 three-dimensional effects, including
page-turns, accordions, spheres and ripples. 2-D and
3-D effects can also be combined to create
sophisticated image expressions. |
• |
Audio Mixing
|
|
The AG-MX70 provides versatile audio mixing with
four stereo inputs (or embedded digital audio with
the optional AG-YA70 SDI Board), plus two mono
auxiliary inputs, one of which can be switched to a
microphone level input. It has a 3-band equalizer on
the audio inputs and a pitch change function for
masking voice recognition, as well as four levels of
audio adjustment from any of the four sources. |
• |
Flexible Configuration
|
|
Standard RS-422 (9pin) and RS-232 (25 pin) remote
terminals and a GPI (General Purpose Interface)
terminal allow the AG-MX70 to be integrated with an
editing controller. (Full serial control of the
AG-MX70 is possible with the Panasonic AG-A850
editing controller as well as the Sony BVE-2000,
BVE-910, BVE-700 and PVE-500 models.)
Eight analog composite video inputs and four
analog component inputs are standard on the AG-MX70.
(Adding the optional AG-YA70 SDI Board gives the
AG-MX70 a four-input, one-output serial digital
component interface.) This is ideal for configuring
an editing system with DVCPRO or other digital VTRs.
A PC with the MX-Navi program can also be connected
through the USB port. MX-Navi allows graphics files
created with other applications to be downloaded
into the AG-MX70. The AG-MX70 operates in both PAL
and NTSC standard and supports true 16:9 aspect
ratio production. |

The
Great Technology War: LCD vs. DLP If you are new to
the world of digital projectors, you won't have to shop around the
market very long before discovering that "LCD" and "DLP" somehow
refers to two different kinds of projectors. You might not even
know what LCD and DLP are before asking the obvious question
"which one is better?"
Want a really BIG SCREEN...then use a LCD/DLP projector and
connect your computer or even an VHS player/recorder (used as a TV
tuner) and project pictures or presentations up to 15 feet by 20
feet. (can go larger)
